Yesterday, I phoned with Benjamin Klüter, the creator of Havoc Zone. We, both aspiring a career in the game making business (although he already works as a professional pixel artist - and certainly not a bad one if I might say so), agreed to join forces permanently and found a little game making studio, now called SquidLink Eleven Games.
With his exceptional talent in Game and Graphic Design, my friend Achim's experience as programmer and code engineer and my abilities in composing and storywriting, the three of us can really boost that project's potential and hopefully can make it one of the most blasting space shooters known to the world.
How far my engagement with Havoc Zone will go is uncertain. It is, however, clear that I will deal with the soundtrack as well as with SFX and synchronization matters. I will rework the two existing tracks, Supersonic Proving Grounds and High Scores. One thing is sure, the soundtrack will resurrect the feeling of retro video game music.
A lot of planning has to be done, another project is in pre-production, where I will be responsible for the most story work. All I can say is that is going to be an Eastern-style RPG, inspired by the likes of Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana.
Another new thing is the reformation of my ambient / noise set-up Baibureta Overdryve. Aurae and me didn't have time to give the project the devotion it deserved and thus put it on hold. We're now back working on our first album Wisdom. Science. Decay., but we're uncertain when it might be released. The first tracks are available here.
